This important courthouse in the city center has been dealing with one thing after another. Today, July 22, 2025, the building went into lockdown because a guy with a knife walked into the lobby. The FBI, SWAT, and local police showed up fast. They closed the roads nearby, which made traffic really bad. Luckily, they took care of the situation, and we should get more info from officials soon.

Yesterday, July 21, Anne Pramaggiore, who used to be the CEO of ComEd, got sentenced to two years in prison right there in the courthouse. She was found guilty in a big bribery case that involved Michael Madigan, the former Illinois Speaker. The courtroom was full, and everyone in the country has been watching this story.

There's also still a problem with Legionella bacteria. Since September last year, the water system in the building has had this bacteria. The CDC discovered it in the kitchens and cafeterias, which made people worry about the safety of jurors, employees, and visitors. Health people are still watching what's going on.
